Phase change simulation with SimPowerSytems
Show older comments
Hello,
I am trying to simulate the phase change of a material with SimPowerSystem for a thermal analysis with resistances and capacitors. I have created three branches to represent the solid state, the liquid state and the phase change, each of them with an specific value for the capacitor. On a general view, what I want to get is the system changing from one brach to another. The selection of the appropriate branch is made with an Embedded Matlab Function, whose inputs are the voltages of the three capacitors and whose outputs control ideal switches, one for each brand.
I am not able to get coherent results, and I don't know either if I am not selecting the appropriate switching devices (ideal switches may have some problems with transients when changing state), or if the problem comes from the Embedded Matlab Function. Does anybody have a better idea?
Thank you very much in advance!

Probably best to use a single Variable Capacitor which is controlled by the output of the MATLAB function.
