Does any know if there is a power protection relay library for simulink and simpower? I came by a technical paper M Kezunovic and B Kasztenny Texas Uni indicating that there was a relay element library, however my tool box has nothing in the way of complete over current, differential, distance relays.

Are you referring to this paper? It states "A package developed at Texas A&M University using Matlab and SIMULINK provide such capabilities through five standard component libraries". This toolbox is not a MathWorks product. However, you may want to explore Relay block from Simscape Electronics library. You may also consider using Simscape Language to create custom components. You may find more example in this link

Hi Anh Thanks for your response, yes that is the technical paper I was referring to. Developing these relays would involve a significant amount of effort. Perhaps the Texas A&M relay lib can be purchased?

Thanks for the paper the problem is I can't see any of these relay elements in my simulink libraries nor in simscape. Is this something that needs to be requested from the developer?

Those are not part of MATLAB: they are a third party library developed at Texas A&M University (TAMU). The link I posted implies that it was made available as open source; I did not follow up far enough to locate the files. I suggest reading the paper I posted and seeing if they mention a package name, and using the name of the main author together with some key words like relay and matlab to see if you can locate the open source code.

You can download a library from https://sgcbook.engr.tamu.edu/ which is based on the book 'Design, Modeling and Evaluation of Protective Relays for Power Systems,' Mladen Kezunovic, Jinfeng Ren, Saeed Lotfifard; Springer 2016
