How to take advantage of the retina resolution of a MacBook with MATLAB?

My retina resolution is 2880x1800 but I cannot use that with MATLAB plot. For example set(gcf,'unit','pixel','position',[0 0 1440 900]); makes a fullscreen size figure window. I would like to plot 2000x1500 pixel raster matrices on my screen with MATLAB and save the picture in full resolution. How to do this?
