I am using XLSWRITE command to write multiple matrices to the same excel file in different worksheets. But, I also want to rename the worksheets for better understanding. How can this be done?

No, I did not find it during the period when the question was asked. However, the answer below seem to work.

You can pass a sheet name as the third parameter to xlswrite.
xlswrite does not offer any method to rename sheets.

Yes that`s what I`m currently doing. Saving the workbook with the sheet names i want. Then using xlswrite to fill it up! I think to set it within the code, we would need to use writetable, correct?

If you use xlswrite and the sheet does not already exist then xlswrite will create it.
