Legend Error in Matlab 2014a

I am using Matlab 2014a on my school's PC. When I run the following code

 figure
subplot(2,1,1);
plot(1:N, E1,'--', 1:N, E2,':'),  title('Errors'), xlabel('\rightarrow Node Number'),ylabel('\rightarrow Error'), grid on, legend('Error in First Case', 'Error in Second Case')
subplot(2,1,2)
plot(1:N, E1P,'--', 1:N, E2P,'c*'),  title('Percentage Errors'), xlabel('\rightarrow Node Number'),ylabel('\rightarrow Percentage Error'), grid on, legend('Percentage Error in First Case', 'Percentage Error in Second Case')

Is this a known issue? or am I making a mistake here?
