It has taken almost 5 hours for installation, and it was still 5%. So I stopped and made a new installation. It is 4% since 4-5 hours. So any help what to do? Note that I have already installed and downloaded other stuff yesterday and my internet was pretty good. So any help please ? thanks

Hi. I had the same issue, but for me as soon as my laptop entered rest mode, the download froze. So I kept working on it until the download ended and it took a couple minutes

There can be many reasons. Maybe the server of MathWorks is busy. Or your connection was fast yesterday, but not today - perhaps there is a quota and the download speed is reduced above a certain limit. Or your hard disk is damaged and the OS tries to repair it. It could be a collision with your anti-virus program or a virus exhausts the computer with mining a crypt-currency.
Try to find out any details. Currently it is not sure that this is a Matlab problem.

I have also been having issues last night and this morning downloading R2018a. Currently at my 3rd attempt. First attempt download stopped at 23% and froze. Now I have disabled all virus protection to attempt to download and install again- and I'm still having issues! My internet connection and download quota is fine (unlimited and wifi strength good)- I have no PC issues. I feel it must be something else or from MATLAB end.

Hi,
This is an issue for me as well, I have been downloading this software since monday(its currently friday night). It take hours to finish downloading Malab 9.2 and as it downloads Simulink 9.2, it freeze's at 4%, I made it to 6% and have been at it since yesterday. Could you assist me on installing this software?

I had the same problem downloading and installing rb2018. I don't know the reason why, but downloading firstly didn't work with wireless network. Then I tried with an Etherat connection and it worked without any problem. It took me just a couple of minutes. Which means the problem might be with the internet cconnection... I hope it helps

@Claudio: MathWorks has a vital interest in working Matlab installations. The interface requires a license number, but I do not reveal a secret if I mention, that e.g. 123456 is accepted there also. The MathWorks team will recognize this an can decide, if the lack of a valid license number matters or not. Fortunately the support team consists of humen employed by MathWorks, not by a AI software or out-sourced team. So simply try it.

I managed to get around this by downloading 2018a instead of 2018b. Not ideal, obviously, but it works for now

Reaching out to MathWorks Technical Support is the best way to move forward. We do want our users to be successful in installing the software, so please share your experience so that a) you get to move forward easily and b) MathWorks can learn from different user experiences and improve for those following your lead.

Hello,
I'm also stuck while installing R2018b form terminal, I modified the installer-input.txt template, and made the installer to run silently and put the activation key.
for 8 hours the terminal only shows:
Preparing installation files ...
Installing ...
Nothing else, and the installation zipped file is around 128 MB and there's a folder in the tmp directory per installation trial that's around 250 MB, I don't know how to proceed, I'm installing it on a remote server but not able yet to proceed.
Does it take so much time?

No, installing Matlab take some minutes also usually. Either it stuck during downloading, than MathWorks can tell you the reason, or there is a problem and the installation waits for an inteaction of the user, which cannot happen in silent installing.

I'm accessing a remote machine and trying to install from CMD I copied the installer file and modified it to run locally, can you tell me what checks should i do to solve the issue?

Hey, I don't know what is the reason, but my matlab installation was exceptionally slow.
Internet speed is definitely not an issue, that i am sure of. But when I noticed the task manager, the antimalware service was continously working and taking much more CPU processing than the matlab itself. I guess i should have turned off my antimalware service and then run the installer. Anyway, the CPU usage of MATLAB took 0.5% space on an average during the install time and antimalware took about 4%, i had some other security services installed too. It took me a total of 10 hrs to install matlab with them.
I guess its mainly because of this services that the installation was slow, so my advice would be to turn-off your anto-virus if you are installing it from licensed key. It generally should be free of malwares.
