read the text file in matlab gui as same formate

hi all, i write a code to call text file in edit text(matlab GUI).but not call as same format, if any changes in edit text and save in other text file, it does not save as same format. so, what i change in code to save and call as same format after applying the push bottom.

The question is not clear. What kind of "format" do you mean? Can you post a relevant example?

the text file as given below,

the problem is to call this text file as same format in edit text box in matlab GUI. 2nd thing is that if i change same value in the given edit text and save in other text file, it have same format as previous with changeable data.

I not sure, what the problem is. It would be helpful if you mention, which problem you observe.

Maybe fscanf(fid, '%s') imports the first lien only? Then:

after clicking the push bottom, the format is not same as text file in edit text box show (same as 1.jpg) and the code is :

Did you read my answer? I've suggested to use this for reading:

Str  = fileread('IO_PROCESS.txt');
CStr = splitstr(Str, '\n');
set(handles.edit1, 'String', CStr);

I do think that this matches "i need same format display in edit text box". If not, please take the time to explain, what you see instead.

i explain one by one:-

1. i have one text file which shown in figure 1.jpg. the format of writing in sequence form.

2. i call this by clicking push bottom in Matlab GUI. the text file content read and show in edit text box,which is shown in figure 2.jpg. but the problem is that it write in continuous form not same as figure 1.jpg.

3. after that i change some data in edit text box.

4. than clicking 2nd push bottom changes data in edit box is save in other text file and show currently save data in other edit text box.

the format of save data is same as 1.jpg but currently it save in continuous form as seen in fig.3.

• i want to save data as sheen in fig.1 after editing the same value will be change and also shown these data in 2nd edit text box as format of fig.1.

Jan, remember there might be \r.

Ah yup, the file is being exampled in Notepad in 1(1).jpg, and that tells us that it has \r as well as \n, so the splitstr() will need to change a bit. I would suggest

Cstr = regexp(Str, '\r?\n', 'split');
if isempty(Cstr{end}); Cstr(end) = []; end

The second line is there because there is a good chance that the file ends in a \n with nothing after that, and if it does then because regexp split divides at every occurrence of the pattern, regexp would leave an empty location at the end; the isempty test detects and deletes the empty entry without going wrong for the case where the file abruptly ends at the end of a line without a \n on the line (which is a valid possibility.)
