how to clip an image based on x and y coordinates

hello everyone I have a satellite image and I need to clip the image based on the coordinates of x and y from a shape file I have used geoimread() with x and y coordinates from shape file to clip it but it clip the image as a square ( you can find it in the attachment)

but the shape is irregular it is a border of Saudi Arabia is the problem related to the x and y ? or what? does anyone know how can I do that ?
