Regarding solving an equation

I have done a program in MATLAB to solve an equation as mentioned below,
r1 = 0.7
r2 = 0.704
r3 = 0.825
r4 = 0.833
ki = 13.8564
Ri = r1*log(r2/r1)/ki
kins = 0.0006
Rins = r1*log(r3/r2)/kins
ko = 39.8397
Ro = r1*log(r4/r3)/ko
ho = 10
Rco = (r1/r4)*1/ho
U1 = 1 /(Ri+Rins+Ro+Rco)
R1 = 1/U1
Ti = 77
To = 313
delTt = To - Ti
phi = solve('R1*x + 0.033165331*x^0.8 -delTt')
phi1 = real(phi)
Problem is that I am not getting its solution but if I seperate the program and put the value of R1 and delTt then I am getting the answer. so, please clarify me that, why I am not getting the answer with this current program ?

try the equation as
syms x
phi = solve(R1*x + 0.033165331*x^0.8 -delTt) %without '...'
phi1 = real(phi)

You would need to add
syms x
above that.
