I noticed all examples on SIMEVENTS come from R2014 and earlier, using the legacy Blocks. Are there more recent examples say from R2016 onwards? Thank you

Hi Teresa Thanks for helping out. Here is a list of models that are not available as "TRY IN MATLAB". (Some may be but I did not check all of them). What is needed is access to a fully worked out model (.slx) --- most beginners should be able to reverse engineer a model but not a text. Some discussions go through a step by step clarification but sadly, some steps are taken forgranted and not clarified. Again, a model would help.
Any other .slx SIMEVENTS models would be a great help. No need for explanations. I can go through the blocks. That would be enough.
Thank you for your patience

Hi Teresa Any luck on some "unlisted" Simevents models? I am learning a lot reviewing the existing examples but would benefit from more. Many thanks

Where exactly are you seeing this? In the product, there are a lot of new examples. -Teresa

Dear Teresa After installing MATLAB and toolboxes, I was eager to try out examples. Under the following folders (and also the subfolder UG)
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2018b\help\toolbox\simevents\examples
All examples were legacy. Unless I install the product wrong.
Here is an image too. There are a few R2018b on the website but I would be grateful if I can have access to these valuable examples (under the above link) but updated to R2018. Many thanks

Interesting! I never expected people to go to examples that way.
We do have legacy demos in the product, because we still support the old version of SimEvents.
To get to current examples you can, type "seExample" then tab in the MATLAB command line.
For a more traditional method, you can go to Help and navigate to the SimEvents Examples.
If you go to Help and documentation of the product, there are more demos there.

Thanks Teresa I simply searched for *.slx under the root and found the examples.
It would be very beneficial for beginners like me to have those focused and pertinent examples converted to the current version.
I have looked at the examples as you noted but would be happy for hints where I can find a lot more. Maybe users should be encouraged to upload their models to some forum.
Learning by example in simulation is important as you see designers using techniques which are not in the documentation. Thanks

Hi Teresa Same subject. I am finding it difficult to get inside examples in the SIMEVENTS Users Guide. Many of the good examples demonstrate beneficial techniques but when I search for the example on the SIMEVENTS website, the same text is repeated without the "TRY IT IN MATLAB" option as in many other examples. (See 3 examples below). Examples are on pages 2-3, 2-6, 2-8 and many more.
It is frustrating for a beginner to see useful examples and not be able to look under the hood to see how the functions, attributes and other parameters are expressed. Is there a way to get the original models for all such non "TRY IT IN MATLAB" examples? I am willing to send you a full list of such examples in the Users Guide.
The main reason for this is that the examples listed under the SIMEVENTS examples are often "intermediate" and hence a bit more than beginners can tackle.
Many thanks

This is great feedback! Yes, you're right. The examples on the website do not open up the example in MATLAB. We probably should be including directions on how to do that from the website. It's a good point.
I just found out that you are correct about the documentation models in SimEvents. This will be fixed soon.
Please do send me the list of models you would like to see, and I will see if I can get them to you.

Hi,
Can you email me directly at Teresa.Hubscher-Younger@mathworks.com? I will then send you directions for downloading the files.
Thanks, Teresa

Hi Teresa I emailed you a list of examples that were "scantily" documented. Did you get it? Also, any progress with indicating where I can get more SimEvents examples as discussed?
Many thanks
