Live script under Ubuntu 18.04

Dear customer support
Using Ubuntu 18.04 I can not open live script generated by my students.
ver --> MATLAB Version: 9.4.0.857798 (R2018a) Update 2 MATLAB License Number: 923002 Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-36-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 24 16:19:09 UTC 2018 x86_64 Java Version: Java 1.8.0_144-b01 with Oracle Corporation Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM mixed mode

It appears that you are running MATLAB R2018a on Ubuntu 18.04 which is not compatible according to https://www.mathworks.com/content/dam/mathworks/mathworks-dot-com/support/sysreq/files/system-requirements-release-2018a-linux.pdf
That could be one of the reason for the behavior which you are observing
