I upgraded my Mac OS to Mojave and now I cannot run MatLab, my go-to app and get the error message that says it cannot recognize my computer. What next?

Text of semi-duplicate question:
My iMac desktop is a stand alone, no one else touches it. I restarted the computer but still get the errro message. A couple of months ago I did upgrade to OS Mojave (10.14.2) and the first thing I did was make sure MAtlab still ran. It did. Then I used it quite a bit but not for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Today it won't open. I use MATLAB_R2013a_Student

The pertinent question is which version of MATLAB do you have? According to this link:
MATLAB does run on Mojave. But I have a funny feeling that you have an older release. For example, even if I look at the requirements page for R2018a, it does not mention Mojave.
If I am correct in my assessment, your recourse is either to downgrade your OS back from Mojave, or you will need to upgrade MATLAB to R2018b.

Also, is it possible that you are running Majove in a Parallels Desktop virtual machine using Parallels 14? If so then you need to downgrade to Parallels 13: under Parallels 14, MATLAB cannot find the MAC address.

Mojave is compatible with MATLAB starting from R2018b.
Refer to the following link for System Requirements:
If you are using R2018b and MATLAB is still crashing then check whether your graphics drivers are updated and update them if not, as even that might cause a crash.
