Feature selection for classification

Hello I'm still new to the machine learning. If I'm using a feature selection methodology "such as wrapper GA-SVM", after selection of the best features, could I use these feature to train another classifier to give me better results, or it will be meaningless?

Sure, go ahead. Not all classifiers will produce the same classifications/results of course.
