Hi, I will buy the BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC204HD audio interface in order to develop the prototype of a real time effects pedal for guitar using Matlab Data Acquisition Toolbox, Audio System Toolbox, etc...
As specified in the Sound Card Support from Data Acquisition Toolbox webpage, this toolbox is compatible with sound cards that use the DirectSound driver. So I have to be sure that this audio interface meets the specifications of Matlab before buying it

That information was not easy to find.
I find reports at https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/budget-dac-review-behringer-umc204hd.1658/page-9 that on Windows if you install the driver supplied by the company, that you can use DirectSound.
I also find at https://forum.musictribe.com/showthread.php?20228-Windows-10-UMC204HD-ASIO-and-WASAPI-at-the-same-time-no-longer-possible that the device supports ASIO drivers. ASIO drivers have lower latency than DirectSound, if I understand correctly. You should reconsider using the Data Acquisition Toolbox, in favour of using Audio Systems Toolbox, which has ASIO support, and is a product designed for use for audio processing.

Indeed - Audio System Toolbox is what you need for sound card connectivity in terms of wider driver support, multichannel and efficiency for real time.
