I am trying to install Matlab-2010a on Kubuntu-12.04. The "install_matlab.out" file state that "License manager executables are missing". I have researched this problem extensively and have applied all of the answers that I have found that seemed relevent, including installing the LSB files. The suggestion to use "Custom" rather than "Typical" installation does seem to apply since the option is never given and custom install mode seems to be the default. I have followed the directions provided, several times, without success.
The only abnormality that occurs during the installation process is a warning message the "libXp.so" cannot be found. Since ldconfg shows that "libXp.so", pointing to "libXp.so.6", exist, I do not understand why the installer cannot locate it.
If anyone can offer suggestions about what might be happening I would appreciate it.

I don't know what it could be complaining about, but install support is available free of charge.
