Is it possible to run MATLAB on Linux Mint?

27 views (last 30 days)
I`m trying to install MATLAB on my computer. I`m using Linux Mint 18, which I don`t see in the supported operating systems. The Installation worked out fine until the end, where it told me that I`m missing a C Compiler. I looked up the supported C Compilers and found out that I already have installed the GCC, which is supposed to be compatible with MATLAB.
The thing is that the Installation was terminated like this. I cannot find any executable, with which I can run MATLAB. I see that there have been installed a lot of files, but I cannot run the whole thing.
Should I try to install it again or does anyone have any suggestions?

From my understanding, you are trying to install MATLAB on a Linux Mint 18 system.
According to the MathWorks documentation, 'Linux Mint 18' is not a supported operating system for the MATLAB release R2020a.
You can try installing a specific release of MATLAB by verifying the corresponding system requirements from the following MathWorks documentation.
