Starting from R2019b, you can use MATLAB to scan and interact with nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral devices. No additional toolbox or support package is required. For more information, see the "Bluetooth Low Energy Communication" chapter in our documentation:
https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2019b/matlab/bluetooth-low-energy-communication.html
In R2019a and earlier, BLE support is not available in MATLAB. However, BLE devices that support the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) can be connected using the Bluetooth support from the Instrument Control Toolbox. To access the relevant documentation, execute the following command in MATLAB R2020a:
web(fullfile(docroot, 'instrument/bluetooth-communication.html'))
