How can I communicate with a BLE (Bluetooth low energy) device in MATLAB?

I like to communicate with a BLE device. Does MATLAB support this?

Starting from R2019b, you can use MATLAB to scan and interact with nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral devices. No additional toolbox or support package is required. For more information, see the "Bluetooth Low Energy Communication" chapter in our documentation:

In R2019a and earlier, BLE support is not available in MATLAB. BLE devices which support the Bluetooh Serial Port Profile (SPP) can be connected by using the Bluetooth support from Instrument Control Toolbox:
