Is there a way to write uint16 image sequence (saved in 3D array) into an .avi video file, without having to convert it to uint8 or double?? The only way I found when researching is that I have to convert my images first then use VideoWriter, but unfortunately I end up losing data of my images if I do so. Please help!!

it seems the function does not support uint16, but it accepts images of type single and double precision. convert your image frames to one of these types and you will not lose quality,
