Slow boot: issue with MATLAB and Java at PC startup?

3 views (last 30 days)
Hi all,
At startup my PC is fairly slow. After I log in there is a lot of disk activity that slows down pretty much everything for about 2 minutes. Using Win 7 resource monitor I can see that the System process is accessing the MATLAB/R2011b/java folder, reading (mostly) and writing, not sure to do what. As soon as this whole lot of reading and writing is done, my computer becomes responsive again.
Do you know why on startup the System process would need to access MATLAB's Java folder so much? Online I see users complaining about slow MATLAB boot, but nothing about slow PC boot. Anybody else is experiencing this?
Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks!

A possibility (maybe): Is on-access system security software scanning and decompressing all those jar files?
