1.How to open xlsx (Excel ) files in MATLAB 9. 2. serial com port interface

1. I am not able to open .xlsx files properly. function 'xlsread' is not working. with 'fopen' .xlsx file not reading data properly. 2. Can read or write data to serial communication port through matlab program?
