Hi all,
I'm wondering if is possible to read just a section of a dataset. I have a huge H5 file (over 10GB) containing a SAR image (44000x44000x3 32bit floating point matrix). It's impossible to open the dataset using hdf5read, so I would like to know if there's a way to read just a selection of the matrix (for example a 100x100x3 starting from the position (0,0)).
I've read about low level functions and hyperslab, but I didn't get a solution. Can someone help me? Thank you all.

I guess your installation does not have h5read. Did you mean the hyperslab example in http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/h5d.read.html? If so, do let us know on what part of the example you would like help on.
