Error while evaluating UI control callback

Why do I keep getting this error whenever i try to insert my value in my gui.

Reference to non-existent field 'sd'.

handles.sd*sd;

Your figure has no permanent graphics object named sd and you did not (permanently) store a value into handles.sd before the point where you tried to use it.
