I was working on an assignment on MATLAB and wrote a function script in the editor and saved it as .m file. The next day I open the file and the script was gone. This is the second time it has happened. How do I recover the script?

This might have to do with your operating system. Without reproduction steps, the chances are extremely slim you will get an answer. You could try checking your bin, or try to use an undelete program.

Hi Abdul,
I had a similar issue some time ago and it was related to the synchronization of the cloud drive where I was saving the files. When I started to save the files in the local drive I never faced the same issue again.

The issue could be with the location and operating system synchronization. In order to recover the scripts you can follow these steps.
In case you lost your work due to abnormal termination, follow the tips provided in the page below:
If this does not help, it is possible restore previous versions of your files if your operating system has saved them. To do this, try the following articles:
- On Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17119/windows-7-recover-lost-deleted-files
- On Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh40710/mac
- On Linux: https://www.howtogeek.com/209080/how-to-restore-previous-versions-of-a-file-on-any-operating-system/
Alternatively, you can see if your system saved a .bak file:
If your system has not saved any past versions of your file, it is not worth spending further time trying to recover it.
