Model of a Solar PV system driving an open-loop boost converter and SPWM inverter to supply AC power with stable waveforms and simple design
This Simulink model presents a complete Solar PV–based DC to AC power conversion system built with simple, transparent, and easy-to-understand blocks. The system begins with a photovoltaic array configured to deliver a realistic DC output voltage, which is then processed by an open-loop DC–DC boost converter. The boost converter raises the PV voltage to a stable DC-link level suitable for feeding a single-phase full-bridge inverter.
The inverter uses sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) switching to generate a clean AC output waveform, making this model ideal for studying the fundamental operation of DC–AC conversion. The design avoids closed-loop and MPPT complexity, allowing users to focus purely on the core concepts of PV interfacing, boost conversion, and inverter switching.
