Different Multilevel Converter Topologies for High Power Photovoltaic Application
Six multilevel converter topologies of NPC, Z-source, QuasiZ-source, Cascaded, Capacitor clamped and Hybrid cascaded NPC have been investigated and compared in terms of their THD, efficiency, number of required semiconductors and other important characteristics in order to find the most suitable topology, which is appropriate to use in PV applications. The results prove that quasi Z-source converter has better performance in comparison with other types.
