Software plays an ever-increasing role in today's industrial machinery. In an effort to better manage the associated complexity, CNH Industrial (CNHi) has adopted a model-based software development process, with AUTOSAR as a central integration platform. This talk provides a high-level overview of how CNHi currently applies these techniques to software development for its flagship combine harvester product line, from initial rapid prototyping to production-ready software deployment. Topics include how Model-Based Design with MATLAB and Simulink enables CNHi to address the challenges of team-based development, component reuse, and the development of advanced features, such as the automatic unloading of a forage harvester using 3D camera technology.
