Determine what preprocessing methods had been already applied to signal

Hello everyone,
i am currently working with emg-signals and an armband to record gestures that i do with my hand. Now looking at the data that i get i am pretty certain that i dont get actual raw data. Is it possible to analyse these signals to determine which preprocessing has been applied through this device? Or atleast prove that preprocessing has been already done?
I am pretty new to this topic and need to learn a lot. It would be very helpful to understand what is happening with the signals.
Thank in advance!
Greetings
Paul

It would be pretty-much impossible to determine from only the result what preprocessing might have been done other than, perhaps, being able to tell about some high/low/bandpass filtering (and even that would be moderately iffy depending upon just what the signal characteristics are).
Your first step is to find out from the manufacturer of the input devices what they document as to what their equipment provides as far as outputs. And, of course, what software you're using to collect the data beyond just a straight A/D converter--if they're writing some text or other data files, there's that piece of software in the middle.

I agree. The only preprocessing was likely the use of a hardware Bessel lowpass anti-aliasing filter at the input of the ADC. I would certainly expect that if it was designed correctly.
