Say we want to display x as a bold italics math symbol in ylabel. Is this possible?

Can do in regular text as
ylabel('$$\textit{\textbf{X}}$$','Interpreter','latex')
I don't think anybody has ever figured out how to use other packages with the TMW-implemented LaTeX in MATLAB for the math part...

Further experimentation shows that
ylabel("$$X(\omega) = \sum_{n=-\infty}^{\infty} x[n] e^{-j\omega n}$$","Interpreter","latex")
is rendered correctly so at least some of the math expressions are available.
But, while it does not error,
ylabel("$$\boldmath{X}$$",'Interpreter','latex')
has no discernible effect on the output
