contour Plots with 2D Variables

Greetings All,
I have two matlab files. the first one is UU and the second one is V_Filtered. they both have the same coulmns and rows. I need to plot a countut plots. All the commands i saw, they said that i have to have a function Z but i don't have Z. onlyx &y
is it possiable to plot it ?

It creates confusion if you use the term "files" interchangeably with workspace variables. Files are things that reside on disk, not in the Matlab workspace, and they cannot have columns and rows,

May be Z is:
Z = sqrt(UU.^2+VV.^2)
