zoom - Changing the font size, name, and style for text-based tools such as the Files panel, Workspace panel, and Variables

4 views (last 30 days)
I aim to modify the font size, name, and style for text-based tools in MATLAB, specifically the Files panel, Workspace panel, and Variables editor. The official documentation
suggests that this functionality is not supported. However, I believe that simply stating "Changing the font size, name, and style for text-based tools such as the Files panel, Workspace panel, and Variables editor is not supported" is not satisfactory. Given the readability challenges posed by the small font size, I really would appreciate some help for a solution on this important topic which significantly hinders my ability to properly work. My MATLAB version is 2024b on Linux Mint 22, DE: Cinnamon 6.2.9. Many thanks in advance

Hi @Eric,

I do understand your frustration, have you consider creating a custom GUI using Matlab App Designer , it can help you control font properties more freely.

Submit this to Mathworks as an official support request/bug at <Product Support Page>
I would agree that seems like a draconian measure; wonder why Mathworks would think that not a user desire/need. Maybe it's something yet to come with the new desktop?
The only recourse I would see at the moment would be to revert to earlier release or use the accessibility feature in the OS and zoom the monitor. That certainly isn't an ideal solution in general since it will affect everything, not just the MATLAB session.
