I can't install any version of MATLAB (2026 Pre-Release, 2025b, 2025a)

Hi there, I'm currently trying to install MATLAB for a coursework deadline I have coming up. However, no matter what version I try to install (2026 Pre-Release, 2025a, 2025b) it comes up with a blank screen and no option to actually input my licence. I'm on a Student Licence. I'm at a loss on what to do - it worked perfectly a year ago when I last installed MATLAB and now nothing is working? I'm incredibly stressed...

To check: from the window decorations it looks like you are using Windows ?
(I didn't think Student licenses could use Pre-Releases. Academic licenses, yes, but I didn't think it was possible for Student licenses.)

Is this a student license you purchased for your personal computer or are you trying to use a university-supplied academic license?
If the prior version was the student license, it should still be valid if you haven't changed your university email address assigned with it. With the student license you have lifetime access to the acquired version for the initial purchase price, but to get upgrades you must keep the annual maintenance contract in effect..
First action is to verify with your professor/teaching assistant about whether there is the academic license in place you can use by logging into the network as your student id or whether you are expected to supply the license yourself by purchasing a personal student license.
The Answers forum is not an official Support site; only Mathworks Sales support can accurately address licensing issues; responders here as volunteers can comment on general terms and conditions and occasionally help with specific common installation errors, but have no way to be able to address specific user's license status. Even the occasional Mathworks staff employee who may answer specific questions will not be able resolve your issue in a public forum.
Mathworks will help resolve licensing and installation issues if it isn't a university license you're supposed to be using instead, pick up the phone Monday morning and call the access given at <Product Support Page> and ask for licensing/sales support.
