I want to change the spacing between the levels of x axis. I want to plot the first three points then increase the gap after first three points and so on. In that way the first 3 plots will be closer and then a small space between next three plots. How can I do so? Thanks.

I'd venture easiest way would be to use some nonlinear scaling function on the x data and plot against it. Then use 'XTickLabel' to write the desired tick labels for each -- would be the inverse of the transform or the input to the transform values.

Thanks for helping. Could you please give me an example using a matlab code so that I can implement it on my program?
