Use "dot" operators.

That is a 1-D signal. What do you mean by 2-D graph? You mean just a regular plot of a 1-D signal? Or do you want some kind of image or surface plot where that x-function varies along each of the x and y directions?

x = 1:10;
y = 1./(2*x.^2-1);
figure,plot(x,y)
