How to convert images in png format to the .pfm format?

2 views (last 30 days)
I have multiple (about 600) images which are in the png format.
I want to convert all of them to the .pfm format simultaneously.
Online converting platforms can do only one image at a time and conversion of multiple images requires a sign up with payment. so I decided that I might as well code it over Matlab myself.
Would like to know the mathematical idea or algorithm behind these conversion platforms

Steps:
  1. To call the multiple images ony by one, please refer this link
  2. In the imwrite function you have to speficy the format as you want to save (.pfm).
But I am not sure, whether MATLAB directly supports .pfm format or not? Or you may require any other custom function to convert the image format.

Yes, Matlab doesn't support the .pfm format. I learnt this while trying to read .pfm images. I am looking for a custom function to convert to .pfm
