WLAN System-Level Simulation: Multi-Node Modeling of Wi-Fi Networks in MATLAB
Overview
In this webinar, we introduce networking and multi-node system-level simulation capabilities of WLAN Toolbox. With the introduction of WLAN Toolbox in 2016, you have been able to perform waveform generation, link-level simulation, signal information recovery, and live tests and measurements of Wi-Fi systems in MATLAB. With its new functionality, WLAN Toolbox enables you now to perform system-level multi-node simulations of Wi-Fi networks in MATLAB. These simulations can help you characterize performance of Wi-Fi network better by including effects of MAC layer modeling, shared communication channels, data traffic patterns, channel contentions and interference.
Highlights
Using examples and reference designs, we showcase how you can use the toolbox to perform:
- System-level simulation of 802.11ax network using Physical Layer Abstraction
- IEEE 802.11 MAC QoS traffic scheduling
- MAC and application layer throughput measurements in a multi-node 802.11a/n/ac/ax network
About the Presenter
Dr. Houman Zarrinkoub is a senior wireless product manager at MathWorks, based in Massachusetts, USA. During 18 years of service at MathWorks, he has served as a development manager responsible for multiple signal processing and communications software tools. Prior to MathWorks, he was a research scientist at Nortel Networks, where he contributed to multiple standardization projects for mobile and voice coding technologies. He has been awarded multiple patents on computer simulations of signal processing applications. Houman is the author of the book Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping (Wiley, 2014). He holds a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from McGill University and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunications from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, in Canada.
