Thermal Analysis with MATLAB and FLIR cameras

David Bursell, FLIR Systems
Andy The', MathWorks

Thermal sensing is a rapidly growing area of imaging technology.  There are many applications areas that are now making use of thermal imagery such as security, mechanical analysis, sensor fusion, and non-destructive testing.

Combining FLIR infrared and other cameras with MATLAB provides you with a flexible environment to explore algorithms for multi-sensor systems.  This session includes the following topics:

In this webinar we explore how to integrate FLIR cameras with MATLAB and through several examples we will review typical workflows for:

   • Multi-sensor fusion
   • Interfacing with thermal imaging devices
   • Segmenting and analyzing thermal images
   • Object detection and tracking with thermal and visible images

About the Presenters
David Bursell holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Boston University.  David has been with FLIR systems for 16 years in the thermography and measurement groups and is now the VP of Worldwide Sales for the R&D / Science Solutions segment.

Andy The' holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Business from Kennesaw State University.  Before joining MathWorks, Andy spent 12 years as a field applications engineer focused on embedded processors at Texas Instruments, and 3 years as a product marketing manager for real-time software at IntervalZero.
